Located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Eastern Tennessee, Gatlinburg is one of the most popular family destinations.  Gatlinburg, TN resort town is 33 miles southeast of Knoxville, ten miles south of Sevierville, six miles south of Pigeon Forge and five miles south  of the most popular park in the U.S., Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Trolley
The City of Gatlinburg provides Trolley service in and around the area for a minimal fee. The Trolley transports riders from the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce building to three destinations in the Park: Sugarlands Visitor Center, Laurel Falls Trail, and Elkmont Campground. The trolley departs from Ripley's Aquarium every day at approximately 9 and 10:30 a.m., and 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, and 5:30 p.m. One-way fares range from $.25 to $1 depending upon the destination. The Trolley is also good for just getting around Gatlinburg during the peak vacations times when Gatlinburg receives a large number of vacationers.
